July '12

Hi Everyone!

How was your July? We had a great month, starting with the Hari Krishna Festival at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. We went with Ravi and Naju - and after the festival we had dinner at an Indian restaurant in Pleasanton.

I decided to sell my Vectrix, since I don't need two electric motorcycles -  call me ;-)

Wow - it's nice to be appreciated!

I rode to Sacramento for a couple of Atheist meetings. There is a community center with outlets available for charging.

They have a monthly book club meeting.

There was also a meeting with guest speaker Leo Igwe from Nigeria where there is still wide-spread superstition (e.g. witchcraft).

I rode to Modesto one day to check out the new shop where you can convert your car from gas to electric.

They were working on updating an old electric car when I stopped by.

Haruko and I went to the Obondori Festival at the Stockton Buddhist Temple.

I rode to Jerod and Hayley's apartment in Sacramento one weekend.

We sometimes go to the Lodi Farmer's Market on Thursday evenings - one evening we ran into Niki - my ex-coworker that introduced me to Haruko!

The Farmer's Market is fun - lot's of food, partying and live music.

Imagine my surprise to drive home from work one day to find a plug-in Pruis parked in the neighbor's driveway! (It turned out to be a loaner, but still pretty cool).

It's July - you know what that means - Laguna Seca! We drove the truck to Monterey and rode the Zero to and from the race track.

The Lightening race team brought along a large solar panel to charge their bike batteries.

The German team had a cool bike with a large battery pack.

Brammo has one of the coolest bikes, but still not available to buy!

Although I like the Brammo - Zero has not disappointed me - if I'd waited for Brammo I still wouldn't have my electric bike!

Speaking of electric bikes - Honda is making a small electric scooter (but not available in the U.S.)

Zero has the best models.

Maybe not the fastest, but you can go to the store and buy one!

Across the street from our hotel was a charging station!

But it was easier to charger overnight in the hotel room   ;-)

Sunday - the big race day.
