How is everyone? Summer is official and ours started out with a bit of excitement. A friend of Haruko's, an elderly woman (87 years old!) who lives alone, had a heart attack. Haruko heard this woman call for help from the front door, so we called the police, who called the fire department, who broke the front door in. The paramedics arrived soon afterwards. This older woman was in the hospital for a couple of weeks and is now in a skilled nursing facility, working on cardiac and physical rehabilitation.
An friend of David's from high school (Roger) just graduated from college with his Bachelor's degree.
The graduation party was at Roger's house in Berkeley.It's fun to go out for a beer after work on occasion!
David and Ravi in Manteca.Haruko's friend Jessica had a surprise birthday party for her 21st birthday.
She seemed genuinely surprised!We adopted two new kittens this month! We went looking for one kitten to adopt, as a companion for our indoor cat, Chibi, but couldn't resist these two sisters. Now we have three cats terrorizing our home!
Their names are "Momo"...
and "Marru"
We joined Jessica at the Lodi Buddhist Temple Obon Festival one afternoon.
There was lots of food and fun things to do and see.
