Reiko's First Ride

Reiko, Bob's wife, decided that 2010 would be the year that she rides on the back of the Harley - so we went for a (relatively) short ride from Discovery Bay to Sacramento and back, along the Sacramento River (Hwy 160 - River Rd.) We took a short break in Isleton - at
Isleton Joe's - where we enjoyed a cup of coffee.
Paying Our Respects

One day we decided to drive to Brownsville, CA, where David's paternal grandparents lived and are now buried.
Sear's Point Motorcycle Races

We spent the weekend in San Rafael - for the motorcycle races at the
Infineon Raceway. It included the first ever electric motorcycle race in the U.S. (See video below).
Do you recognize the lady in this picture?*

On The Way Home

We took a detour on the way home from the races to see the first electric vehicle charging station to have the new
standard 220V plug (J1772). This will work with the
Nissan LEAF, the
Chevy Volt and
other electric cars coming out soon.
Speaking of Electric Cars

David rode the Vectrix to Sacramento for a meeting of the
Greater Sacramento Area Electric Auto Association. There were many EVs there, as well as this green Civic (above) that had recently been converted to an electric vehicle. Charging was courtesy of the
Sacramento Municipal Utilities District.
Sausalito

One day we went with Ravi and Naju to Sausalito to spend an afternoon and enjoy the beautiful weather by the bay.
