April '10

Hi Everyone! Here we go again -- another edition of David and Haruko's Excellent Adventures!

On the way to Sacramento one day we stopped by the Rancho Seco Park. It's about mid-way between Stockton and Sacramento. Jerod camped here as a boy-scout about 12 years ago :-)
This day, however, was not the best day for a picnic (see video below).
It's also famous for the adjacent nuclear power plant that was shut down in 1989.

When we arrived at the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento -- guess what we noticed in the parking lot!

Haruko flew to Japan to spend a few days with her family and friends.

The lovely ladies in this pictures are all friends that she met while living and working in Japan.

Dinner with family.

Haruko and Keiko on the train on the way to Nasu in the Tochigi Prefecture (north of Tokyo).

Keiko, Yumi, and Haruko in Nasu.

While Haruko was in Japan David rode the electric Vectrix to Sacramento one weekend. It was the longest ride on a single charge (so far) -- 48.5 miles. (See video below).
There is a public electric vehicle charging station in the downtown parking garage.

After Haruko flew back home we went to San Francisco with our friends Bob and Reiko, and Reiko's friend Seiko.

We went to the San Francisco Ferry Terminal where there are a lot of restaurants, shops and other things to do and see.

Back in Stockton we went to the Asparagus Festival. It was Haruko's first time!

Take care everyone!
