On Memorial Day Weekend, in Sacramento, California, something amazing happened...
We couldn't be happier for, or more proud of Jerod and Hayley - they organized the wedding and made everything happen, while studying for final exams at Sacramento State University.
Speaking of family - see next month for exciting news from Jocelyn and Jon!
The reception was a blast with food and drink and celebration.
Prior to Jerod and Hayley's big day:
Haruko received some flowers in the mail from Jocelyn in Kansas! Happy Mother's Day Haruko!
Sean Faircloth, of the Richard Dawkin's Foundation, came to Sacramento to speak. I went with a friend from Stockton to hear him speak and get an autographed copy of his book, Attack of the Theocrats!
Our friend and neighbor, Yasin (AKA Dr. Shan), invited us to his graduation from pharmacy school - after the graduation we celebrated with his family and friends at his family's house across the street.
I decided to make a run on the electric bike one weekend - starting from Stockton I rode to Lodi, then Rio Vista and finally to Bob's house in Discovery Bay. I stopped in Brentwood for a brief refresher.
The week before the wedding Jocelyn and Jon flew out from Kansas. We took them to dinner at the Breadfruit Tree Restaurant - one of our favorites.
Jon and I went for a ride on the EV bikes.
It's May and that means... Sear's Point!
This year I rented a motorcycle trailer, rather than putting the bike in the back of the truck. It was much easier to load/unload the bike.
The weather was perfect, but there wasn't much of a crowd this year.
Of course my favorite part - hanging out with other EV nuts.
Haruko could barely contain her excitement.
Bikes everywhere, but just one electric one (not on the track).
The Lightning (electric) bike.
The Zero (electric) bike.
The "Pit".
We rode from Novato to Saucelito for dinner after the races - there was a public electric vehicle charging station just a couple of blocks from the restaurant (Avatars) where we could top off the batteries.
After the wedding I headed down to Loma Linda with my dad for Kyle's graduation from dental school (pictured here with his wife Rachel).
It was great to see family - this is my mom's sister Elma and her husband Ron, with me and my dad.
Rachel, Kyle, Ana, Kayla, me, Brian, Dan, Dad and Berta.
And speaking of family - just before Kyle graduated from Loma Linda University - he and Rachel had a little girl - welcome Jenna!
