October '11

Greetings from Stockton California, and from Hartford, Connecticut, and from Fort Riley, Kansas... where Jocelyn got married!!

We start, of course, with news from the electric vehicle front ;-)
After we returned from Japan, we got back to work on converting the Vectrix to Li-ion batteries.

Almost done!

David went to Hartford, Connecticut for the 34th Annual FFRF Convention:

First time in Hartford.

Mark Twain's House!

Harriet Beecher Stowe's House.

The Convention was at the Downtown Marriott.

A local ethnic restaurant at lunch time.

Ethiopian Food - it was vegetarian and delicious!

The dinner at the convention also offered vegetarian cuisine.

The convention was fantastic with great speakers and entertainers.

Notice anything missing from this bill?

Looks like Europe!

It's over already - waiting for the ride back to the airport....

--> Jocelyn's Wedding, October 15, 2011! <--

We arrived late - the night before the wedding.

Just before the wedding.

The wedding was in the helicopter hangar at the military base in Kansas.

Jocelyn's friend Laura flew in from Texas.

Haruko's sister's family flew in from Seattle.

The ladies.

The wedding party.

The girls.

The Men.

Not your typical wedding.

The reception was a grand party at a local Japanese hibachi restaurant.

The weekend flew by - now we have a son-in-law named Jon Call... and a daughter named Jocelyn Call.

At the Saint Louis Airport - a reminder that we were in tornado country.
Back to California....

The 10th Annual Sacramento Freethought Day was a blast - speakers from all over the country and attendees from all over the state and beyond showed up for the event.

The Phenomenauts rock bank jammed for an hour in the afternoon.

Technically, September was Illiteracy Month, but Stocktonians celebrate year-round:
