David & 春子 in Stockton!
Greetings and happy holidays everyone - I hope your Tofurkey Day was fun!

We had a great time with the kids and their friends: Jerod and his girlfriend Hayley, Jocelyn and her friend Laura and Laura's boyfriend Charlie (not pictured).

What a busy month we had in November. Sorry this blog is sooo long - I think it's the record so far...

First of all - the Election Party was a blast. Thank-you all for coming and sharing this historic time with us!

Just a few days after the election, Haruko's mother, Michiko Wada, came from Japan to see us! It was her first time here in California, so we had fun taking her to San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Sacramento.

After spending a week with us here in California she and Haruko flew up to Seattle to spend another week with Haruko's sister and their family.

At the S.F. Airport.

Pier 39 - San Francisco.

Lombard Street.

Golden Gate Bridge.

We had dinner in Saucelito - as the sun went down we could see the fog rolling into the bay.

Back in Stockton - I took her for a ride on the electric scooter.

We took her to Delta College where Jerod and Jocelyn are going.

And to the Sakura grocery store - where Haruko works.

At the waterfront - downtown Stockton - there was an oil spill; which resulted in the deaths of thousands of fish.

I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert in Sacramento one Saturday night with my co-worker friends (while Haruko was in Washington) - it was an awesome show. The mixture of music, lights, lasers & fireworks was incredible. We are already planning on going again next year.

We had Dinner in Davis with our friends David & Shari, one Sunday evening. We had some fun conversation over a great Italian dinner. ( There is an electric car dealer in Davis; we stopped and took a couple pictures on the way to dinner).

I got some really bad news one Wednesday morning... my best friend Joe Scaglione died, unexpectedly, in his sleep. I went to the funeral in San Jose. The church was filled beyond capacity - people were standing in the aisles and in the lobby; he was a wonderful man. He was well-loved.
It was bittersweet to see old friends and classmates that I hadn't seen in years... and to say goodbye to an old friend that died way too young.

Jocelyn was in a car accident one Wednesday morning - no one was hurt, luckily. The guy who hit her (twice!) was arrested for drunk driving. Jocelyn has good insurance - they loaned her a car to drive while they are fixing hers.
