Hi Everyone!

Once again, we'd like to share with you what we did during the last month - please share with us what you've been up to!

Remember to click on images to enlarge (especially the panorama photos) and feel free to click on 'comments' link below to give us some feedback!

Haruko's co-worker, and good friend Jessica (third from the right - wearing purple) finished her college transfer requirements and moved to Davis to begin her university studies - this was her farewell dinner with all of the co-workers from Sakura Grocery.

Jessica has been working hard for 3 years, saving her money for university and she has made many friends at Sakura Grocery (she's on the far left in this photo). She may still show up there on an occasional weekend ;-)

We went to Livermore one Sunday for their big annual wine-tasting event; there were 20+ wineries there, as well as several live bands. We enjoyed our picnic in the park.

After lunch we drove to downtown Livermore to walk around and grab a cup of coffee before returning home.

David was summoned for jury duty at the San Joaquin County Courthouse - there was some big case going on - TV camera crews were there. He spent two days there during the selection process, but wasn't selected to be on the jury.

We had a surprise storm one day - very unusual weather for California - lightening struck this tree just down the street from our house. It burst into flames, but the fire fighters quickly took care of it. The tree has since been removed...

Our friends Bob and Reiko had their annual pool & bar-b-que party one Saturday. Haruko was working, :-( but David went and had a great time.

One Saturday we went to Sacramento to do some shopping and stop by the Sacramento Auto Museum to check out the electric cars on display. Just a couple of blocks from the museum we spotted a Tesla electric car on the road.

This Tesla (in the museum) is the first electric car in history to drive all the way across the United States.

The museum also has an EV1 on display (another historical first).

The Stockton's Greek Orthodox church had their annual Greek Festival - we enjoyed the food and music.

David and Jerod went to the Lodi City Council meeting where they were discussing issues of church & state separation. It was controversial; there were 4 or 5 TV camera crews there. In the end the pro-theocracy side won the debate...

Playing with the iPhone - this is a montage of our back yard.

Cell phone shopping - Jerod and Hayley both needed new cell phones; Hayley found one she liked... Jerod is still shopping :-)

Celebrating!

One day David took the electric bike for a ride to Livermore - where they have an electric vehicle charging station at the City Hall. (See video below).

Next to the City Hall is the Library - it was a good place to study while the bike was recharging.

Thanks for joining us our our journey - until next month!
